About Us
The DITA Group is a family-owned and operated business that was founded in 1969 by Kurt Dieter Wostenfeldt, under the name Spatz Tool & Die, specializing in 3D engraving. In 1970, the company was renamed and reorganized to become the DITA Group of companies. The operations began in Opherton, near Booysens, and in 1980, the company purchased its first industrial property in Devland, a new industrial area located in South West of Johannesburg Soweto.
In 1982, the company's factory was completed, which was specifically built for the Thermal Plastic Injection Moulding and Tool & Die Making industry. The company has since purchased an adjacent industrial property in 2000, to allow for further expansion. The company values family, and many of the staff have been with the company since its inception. Some members have retired, and have been replaced by children and grandchildren of the first employees.
The DITA Group operates a fully-equipped plastic injection moulding facility with 18 injection moulding machines ranging from 20-350 tons, a fully-equipped tool and dye making workshop, and CAD-aided product development and mould design. The company is located at DITA House, 140 Axle Road, Develand, Soweto, 1813, South Africa, and employs 20 staff on a 3000 square meter office and factory.
The company also operates its own product lines, including the Lokflor all-weather sports surface, Indoor & Outdoor Lighting Solutions, Titan Cable Ties & Accessories, Flock-Off Bird Deterrent device, TSS filing system (Document Management System), and Custom Moulding.
